Stratified 3D 3D Printed parts in India

The AM Production Gap Is Real. So Is the Progress3DPrint.com | Additive Manufacturing Business

Additive manufacturing (AM) has become very good at proving what is possible. Companies can print complex metal parts, reduce weight, combine multiple components into one, and produce designs that are difficult to make with conventional manufacturing. But proving that a part can be printed is only the beginning. The harder question is whether that same part can be made consistently and at a reasonable cost.

That’s been a challenge for the industry for years. Some promising 3D printing projects make it through testing and pilot programs but never reach full production. Sometimes it’s the cost, sometimes it’s the time and effort needed to qualify a part, and sometimes there just isn’t enough demand to justify moving into production.

Still, many companies are making real progress, showing that the industry is finding ways to overcome these challenges. Their experiences show what it takes to move beyond prototypes and start producing parts regularly, and why that transition remains difficult for others.
